The Comparison Trap: You Are Called to Contribute

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Comparison can convince us that we are behind, do not belong, or need to become someone else before God can use us. Jesus Christ sees us differently. This session will explore how replacing comparison with the Savior’s perspective can quiet self-doubt, build lasting confidence, and help you recognize the gifts and experiences God has entrusted to you. You do not need to become someone else before you can contribute to His work and bless the people around you.

Presenter:

Brittany Beattie

FRIDAY TIME 3:00-4:15pm

SATURDAY TIME 3:00-4:15pm, YSA 26-35

PRESENTER BIO

Brittany Beattie is in constant awe of how incredible Heavenly Father is and how perfect His plan is for us. She has seen time and time again that His way is better than her way (see Isaiah 55:8-9), and because of that He has led her to incredible joy!

Brittany is a professor of religion at BYU-Idaho. She was previously a managing editor for Church magazines and recently served on the Primary General Advisory Council.

As a blessed daughter, sister, and aunt, her favorite place to be is together with her family. Her favorite non-home spots are the temple (which also feels like home!), the Sea of Galilee, and Disneyland.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Brittany feels utter delight at the beauty of God’s creations and loves to sit and observe even the smallest of His creations in their grandeur. Although her love for sports far outweighs her skills, she likes to be on the court or field. She loves learning (especially the gospel) and trying new adventures. She could play board games all day and still never want to stop. Brittany is grateful to be with you here today!
